Community Service Projects

Project: Cupcake Day Charity Fundraiser Project
Budget: RM100
Product: A cupcake
Price: RM3 each
Aim: Every year, the RSPCA of Australia celebrates Cupcake Day as a charity fund raiser. As SPCA Malaysia does not celebrate Cupcake Day, I was thinking we could start if off and donate the amount of money we have collected from our very own Cupcake Day Charity Fundraiser to SPCA Malaysia. This will show the club’s support to the thousands of animals that the SPCA Malaysia takes care of everyday.

Project: iRecycle Project
Budget: No budget required
Stuff we need: Used paper and newspapers
Aim: I’m sure many of you remember the “Go Green” Campaign back in 2010. This is somewhat similar but less major. To make this a success, teachers, students and Interactors must provide us with their used paper and newspapers which we will then exchange with “recyclers” for an amount of money which will then be used for our next community service project or donated to a charity organization.

Project: Charity Talent Show
Budget: RM100
Entry-fee: RM5 (Normal), RM8 (VIP)
Aim: Every year, SMK Sultan Abdul Samad, Petaling Jaya holds a talent competition such as Samadian Idol or SAS’ Got Talent. The Interact Club could hold such an event. It should be a friendly event which means there are no winners. During this event, students will be able to unleash their talents and show them without having to lose or win anything. We would need to hold an Audition just to see if their performances are appropriate and if they can be showcased. The money received from this project will probably be donated to a charity organization or it can be used for our next community service project.
